Gold and carved corals - always a win-win combination! Magnificent vintage earrings depicting ancient Greek, Kanephoro girls carrying sacred fruit baskets on their heads for the Dionysus god. Kanephoros were a popular subject matter in art, particularly in architecture, where they were often depicted as caryatids.
Kanephoro girls are made out of 14K gold. The floral pendants are made of natural, carved, Japanese coral (Satsuma); pendant frame is gilded silver. Reliable, sturdy clasp. A spectacular item from our High Jewellery collection.
